Shibaura contributed 347 tractors to Yemen

Shibaura contributed 347 tractors to The Republic of Yemen in June through July 2010. This contribution was made as part of the "Japanese Grant Assistance for The Food Security Project for Under Privileged Farmers" by Official Development Assistance (ODA) by the Japanese government. The purpose of the tractors supplied is to improve the food self-sufficiency in Yemen.

In July, a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture & Irrigation visited our Matsumoto factory, and was very enthusiastic about the training he received on the tractors operation during his stay. We believe that the knowledge he gained from the training will be passed on to the local farmers, ensuring the tractors will be used effectively throughout Yemen, therefore improving the agricultural productivity in Yemen.

It is a great honour for us to know that our products contribute to the development of the countries that need our help. We will continue to supply our products whenever and wherever they are needed.
