History of Company
1942 Ishikawajima-Shibaura Turbine Co.,Ltd. Matsumoto Factory was established.
Ishikawajima-Shibaura Turbine Co.,Ltd. was established by the joint investment of Ishikawajima Shipyard (currently IHI Corporation "IHI" ) and Shibaura Engineering Works Co.,Lted. (currently Toshiba Corp.) and produced exhaust gas turbine superchargers and valves.
1950 Ishikawajima-Shibaura Machinery Co.,Ltd. was established.
The business description was changed so that they could produce and sell engines, garden tractors and fire pumps, receiving permission or the changeover to a civilian goods producing company, and was re-established.
Shibaura's air cooled four-cycle kerosene engine III model In the same year, Shibaura's air cooled four-cycle kerosene engine III model received the Minister of international Trade and Industry award for the best product, for the first time in Japan.
1951 AT-III First Japanese riding tractor AT-III was developed.
1952 The fire pump H model passed the certification test of the research center of the National Fire Defense Headquarters.
1954 The air-cooled four-cycle kerosene engine VI model received the Minister of International Trade and Industry award.
1959 Started selling the S-17 four-wheel tractor in the market. It gained tremendous.
1961 Tied up technical cooperation with Motoren-Werke-Mannheim (MWM) inn West Germany. This contributed to the success of the development of our original diesel engine.
1972 Concluded a tractor supply agreement with tractor division of Ford Motor Company.
1975 Okayama Factory was completed.
1976 The Generator GF series were launched in the market.
1977 SD3000 AT The first Japanese turbo tractor SD3000 AT was introduced at the Shibaura All Japan Dealer Convention.
Automatic electronic control system for the implements was developed.
The first IC controlled tractor was produced and launched into the market.
1982 Compact tillers (KB series and SC series) Compact tillers (KB series and SC series) were launched and obtained tremendous reputation.
1985 Concluded a engine supply agreement with Perkins Engines Ltd.
1987 Introduced Mixed Production system at Matsumoto Factory.
1990 CM224 Front Mower CM224 received the SIMA golden award.
1991 Tied up business corporation with Yanmar Agricultural Equipment Co.,Ltd.
1993 The production amount of the two-cycle engine reached 3 million units.
AF-18 The first Yanmar-Shibaura tie-up tractor AF series was developed.
Matsumoto Factory obtained the ISO 9001 certificate.
1994 Okayama Factory also obtained ISO 9001 certificate.
1995 Established Perkins Shibaura Engines Limite. (PSEL) in the U.K. as a joint venture with Perkins Group Limited.
1996 Tokyo Headquarters and all Sales Dept. obtained the ISO 9001 certificate.
1998 Acquired Tsuchiya Mfg. and integrated its turf care product as Ashikaga Factory.
1999 Started production of one of popular environmental equipment, UV Slipper Disinfector.
2000 Matsumoto Factory obtained ISO 14001 certification.
2001 Accumulated production quantity of diesel engine reached over one million engines, Production of model AF100 tractor, first tractor in the industry to have electrical-HST control, started.
Ashikaga Factory obtained ISO 9001 certification.
2004 Established Perkins Shibaura Engines LLC (PSEA) in the US, a joint venture operation with Perkins.
2005 PSEL was received the Queen's Award from British Government.
2006 Opening Asahi Factory in outskirt of Matsumoto.
Achieved shipment of 400,000 tractors in total for CNH.
2007 Company name of Ishikawajima-Shibaura Machinery Co.,Ltd. changed to IHI Shibaura Machinery Corporation.
