1. What is Ozone?
A molecule made up of three atoms of oxygen.
Occurs naturally in the stratosphere and the natural world
Ozone layer : 10-20ppm
Seashore : 0.05ppm
Forest : 0.1ppm
On the ground : 0.005ppm
Ozone exists quite readily in nature, and ozone disinfection is attracting attention because of it's both human-friendly and eco-friendly method.
2. What does ozone do?
Ozone is one of the most powerful disinfectants, and the second most powerful disinfectant in the world which inactivate viruses, bacteria, fungi, etc.
Its oxidizing power is said to be seven times greater than that of chlorine.
3. What is advantage?
As ozone is unstable, it is readily converted back to oxygen.
It leaves no harmful residual that cause serious side effects on the human body.
No harmful collateral material produced.
running cost are very low as they only consume an Air, Electricity and Water.
Uniformly disinfect an entire room.
4. What is the advantages of ozone disinfection compared to other methods?
| Problems of conventional Infection Control methods | Ozone disinfection method | |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical Substance | Need prearrange such as hydration, chemical substance heating, blending. Have strong acridity and toxicity. Residual chemical substance on walls & ceiling. Need neutralization & wiping off of residual as a post-cleaning. Chemical substance need to be stored under strict control. (Formalin, EOG,etc. ) |
With a single touch of start button will start automatic operation. It will immediately start decompose procedure automatically after the disinfection phase by using it's built-in ozone decomposer. There are no residual. Low running costs, as OP-10 do not need chemical substance. You only need electricity expense and Oxygen. |
| Wiping off with chemical substances | Takes a lot of time. Left-over of hazardous substance. Chemical substance need to be stored under strict control. Impossible to disinfect virus in the air. |
Labor-saving method as the entire operation is automatic with computerized control. No residuals. No need to use chemical substance. Disinfect virus in the air. |
| UV method | Shadows prevent the object from being completely disinfected. The killing power decreases as the distance from the lamps increases. |
Disinfect every corner of the room. Even disinfect virus on the ceiling, wall, and behind the object. |
| Antibacterial agent | Create resistant bacteria. | Kill all bacteria as ozone destroy cell membrane of bacteria. |
5. How safe is ozone?
Inhaling high density of ozone is not good for you.
But low levels of ozone are all around us (Seashore=0.05ppm / Forest=0.1ppm / On the ground=0.005ppm), and are safe to Inhale.
Our ozone disinfection device :
Operate only when there's nobody around (UNOCCUPIED ROOMS USE ONLY)
Air intake mode for disinfecting occupied room(easy disinfection without fumigation)
Ozone decompose catalyzer will accelerate decomposition phase.
NO OZONE RESIDUAL
6. How to generate Ozone.
Ozone gas is produced with a high voltage electrical discharge.
SHIBAURA's advanced technology gives you safe and efficient disinfection method.
7. How can ozone disinfect?
Ozone breaks through the cell membrane of bacillus, and this leads to the destruction of the bacillus, virus, and bacteria.
8. How much effectiveness can I expect?

9. Does ozone have an effect on materials?
Usually, sterilizer/disinfector can cause serious damage to the materials & medical instruments due to the strong oxidation power.
Ozone is no exception.
However,
Testing shows that ozone have less effect on materials than any other methods.
The test result indicate Ozone gas/water chemically attacks only materials made from or containing natural rubber, but have no effect on other materials.
